New Zealand Native Cabbage Tree Seeds
Tropical and palm-like in appearance, the Cabbage Tree is a common feature of the New Zealand landscape. In Spring and Summer large heads of creamy, sweetly scented flowers form above its canopy of long, grass-like leaves.
It was an important plant to the early Maori - the central buds as well as the base of the young leaves were eaten raw or roasted.
It was said to taste like artichoke. Grows to height of 12 metres. Very adaptable. Packet contains approx. 10 seeds.
