Swamp Kauri Heirloom Jewellery Box
Grahame Roberts of Heirloom Boxes has been making a range of beautiful hand crafted products from Ancient Swamp Kauri timber for over 20 years. From his workshop in Whangarei, Northland, New Zealand he crafts stunning heirloom pieces from timber which has been buried in the swamps of Northland, New Zealand for up to 60,000 years making it the oldest workable timber in the world.
This jewellery box was cut from a large piece of swamp kauri root then shaped and finished by hand. It has 2 levels inside, the first is a removable tray that is divided into compartments and has cushions that can comfortably hold 10 rings. There is storage below for larger items such as bracelets. It has a red velvet finish on the interior and has a burnished oil finish on the outside.
